The Block Party Program
The Block Parent Program began in Canada in the early 1980s as a community safety program for kids and teens. Homes that volunteered displayed a red-and-white stop-sign logo in their window. It meant one simple thing: if you were lost, scared, or in trouble, you could knock on that door for help.
This isn’t that, but rather a fun lil parody.
Volunteers were screened, and the program worked with local police and community groups. It wasn’t a shelter — just everyday people offering a safe place, a phone, or a moment to calm down. At its heart, it was neighbours looking out for neighbours.
