What I Do
I’ve done a lot in my 20+ years as a designer.
I’ve created video ads, motion graphic design and video, UX/UI, pitch decks, end-of-year presentations for corporations, email templates, and a ton of merch.
But where my true passion lies is in typographic posters, logos & stickers, and branding/identity design.
-
These are the really fun ones to work on. The one-offs like the ‘Drupalcon’ stickers, ‘Block Party’, ‘Avocados & Orgasms’, or ‘You Are Safe With Me.’
These are fun projects to work on because you’re less restricted by rules and guidelines. You can really let your ideas loose.
Notable Projects:
DrupalCon Stickers, Safe With Me, Block Party, & The Red Scarf Project. -
I love creating brands and identities, whether they’re corporate, personal, or a for start-up companies. The exhilaration of font pairing, colour matching, and experimenting with different layouts to find the perfect combination.
Everything else falls into place when that finally clicks, and it’s always a rush.
Notable Projects:
Ontario Growers Supply, Arts Touring Connector, ORSL, & Wise Financial. -
I think I’ve been creating typographic posters longer than anything else I‘ve created. I love the concept of a simple phrase accompanied by an image or graphic.
I would create posters featuring their favourite sayings or quotes and give them as presents to family and friends. I even had a Tumblr - “365 Days of Tumblr” - where I would post one motivational quote every day for a year.
Notable Projects:
(365) Days of Tumblr, Be Who You Are, Nosferatu, & Johnny Cash’s Concert Poster. -
Most of professional career was spent in web design. I worked closely with front-end devs to create website in many verticals including Healthcare, eCommerce, Arts, Education, Non-Profit, and Government.
I was responsible for creating and presenting the wireframes, pre-comps and final designs to the clients. Once approved, the front-end devs would take over to build the working site.Notable Projects:
City of London, Lassonde/York U, KGH, & Canisius College.
